Newsletter Issue 4 2007
Welcome to issue 4 of our newsletter.
We are thrilled to announce our latest apoint+ agreement with Wolters Kluwer, parent company of Croner. The lead article this month explains the main reason why they chose apoint+.
Further excitement throughout networx has been generated by the unofficial launch of our new product apoint. Find out further details of the functionality that this product offers and how our client Firth Rixson implemented the solution.
networx leading recruitment management system, apoint+ has been chosen as the provider to one of the UK’s leading information and consultancy providers Wolters Kluwer (UK) Limited, parent company of Croner whom specializes in providing reliable support for legal compliance and best practice in the areas of human resources, health and safety, environmental management, local and central government, education, trade and transport.
Regarded as "The Professionals First Choice" Wolters Kluwer are a global player in information services and publishing. Employing over 18,400 people and with operations in over 26 countries, annual revenues for 2006 were reported to be over 3.4 billion Euros.
Handling on average over 40 vacancies per month, the UK business was in need of a management tool which would help deliver substantial benefits to a relatively small recruitment resource including improved efficiency and reduced time and costs spent on recruitment.
apoint+ is a simple but innovative system designed to provide companies with a means of handling the entire recruitment process more efficiently. With the anticipated management of over 5500 applications per annum, the system will centralise recruitment activity by driving all candidates through to a newly developed careers section on the Wolters Kluwer corporate website.
With a focus on improving the candidate experience, job seekers will be able to find relevant information regarding the latest vacancies and apply directly online. A role specific application form presents applicants with the opportunity to provide further details in support of their CV and upon submission acknowledgements are sent upon receipt of their information to complete the application process.
As well as improving the recruitment process for the candidate, Wolters Kluwer will also gain more control through the back office of apoint+, the recruitment management system will assist in the administration and organistation of the cycle.
With implementation due to be completed within the next couple of months HR Director Andrew Ayers of Wolters Kluwer commented:
"With the help of networx recruitment management system, apoint+, we will hopefully create an efficient and pleasant recruitment experience which not only reflects the modern day job seeker but also delivers substantial benefits to us as a business."
Commenting on this recent account win, Director of networx, Darren Nuttall said:
"Despite the simplicity of the apoint+ implementation the system will provide a whole host of benefits to Wolters Kluwer. We hope to refresh their existing careers section and ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process for both them and their candidates. Wolters Kluwer is a great name to be associated with and we are thrilled that we have been chosen to act as their recruitment solutions provider at this time."
Firth Rixson, provider of metals and complex metal components to OEMs worldwide, have become the first company to adopt the latest product offering from networx, apoint - before its official launch at the HRSS at Olympia on the 20th of June.
Having benefited from the success of the unrivalled networx response management service, Firth Rixson have taken the next step and implemented apoint. It enables them to place vacancies onto their own website and offers simple candidate management tools to manage the recruitment cycle.
The product is an ideal solution for small or medium size companies where the recruitment volume or processes do not require the higher level of functionality that is offered by our leading recruitment management system, apoint+.
Apoint is easy to use and extremely straightforward to implement yet still provides many of the key features associated with e-recruitment:

In examining the findings, the key message for recruiters is to acknowledge that the adoption of e-recruitment is about more than just technology. It is about the recruitment system being able to attract the right candidate, the selection process being based on sound and credible criteria, and the tracking process being able to integrate with existing systems. Perhaps most significantly, e-recruitment is about cultural and behavioural change, both within HR and at line management level. From our evidence, we suggest that for e-recruitment to deliver, it is about developing the capability of HR to facilitate the system and to view the staffing process as an end-to-end process, similar to that of a supply chain.
Firstly we appreciate the fact that adoption of e-recruitment can sometimes be a ‘leap of faith’. Therefore solutions that we provide are designed to enable companies to adopt e-recruitment in a manner that they are comfortable with and in a way that suits the individual corporate needs and desires.
With the expertise and guidance of networx you can be confident that our products address each and every aspect regarding the recruitment process.
For example, through the implementation of a dedicated careers section on a corporate website or online representation via our job board advertising and sourcing service, companies are given the guidance and support to attract high quality candidates. Similarly online application forms used throughout our solutions ensure that the selection process is conducted in a non-biased and structured format based on pre-determined selection criteria developed at the stage a company identifies the need to recruit.
networx also work closely with clients to alert companies to the importance of individual buy in and involvement of line managers. For some this can mean a complete change in behaviour. Therefore our technology is built to provide different access levels ensuring that line managers can experience the benefits in relation to their own recruitment activity - as well as providing complete control for HR.
networx growth plans for 2007 are moving to plan, with the recruitment of Louise Cleverley, Martin Spence and Laura Spencer into the role of "Client Relations Managers"
Louise has recently been occupied in her career with looking after her young daughter; she has now opted for the easier life and has entered back into the working life.
Both Laura and Martin are from recruitment backgrounds, Martin previously worked for fish4jobs and Laura has recently been working for Michael Page. We wish them all every success.
Further recruitment is planned for London and the Home Counties to support the existing Southern Team together with opportunities at head office for developers and Account Managers.
For the second year running, we are due to exhibit at the HR Software Show, Olympia, London.
Held on 20th – 21st June the show will be used to present our full product suite and be used as the official launch of our new product apoint.
