Located in the Wharfedale Suite of the Swallow St. George Hotel, (just opposite the Harrogate International Conference Centre), HR professionals will be offered a unique opportunity to listen to our guest speakers outline how through the introduction of online recruitment and technology they have dramatically improved their recruitment process.

In order to appeal to the majority of attendees, our guest speakers have been specifically chosen from across the UK to illustrate how each and every company can adopt the level of e-recruitment to suit their individual needs and requirements.

What they say …… what we think

What they say

Retail Therapy – How online is solving recruitment headaches. (OnRec Magazine – Issue 103 August 2008)

"Today it is almost unheard of for a retail recruitment consultancy not to source candidates via the Internet and we also see ever increasing numbers of retailers themselves committing resources online."

"Its no longer just the big guys either; small regionally focused or specialist retailers are enjoying fast and cost effective online recruitment where once their only option may have been expensive local and trade press."

(Mike Convey – Retail Choice)

"Online recruitment is seen as a key tool. With high turnover rates across the industry from store-based positions to head office roles, the most important factor for retailers is to cast the net as widely as possible and online recruitment offers this, whilst still ensuring a cost effective & targeted solution to a clients recruitment needs."

(Ellie Burgess – InRetail)

What we think

Simply by utilising the Internet one of our many retail clients has significantly improved their recruitment process and reduced their cost per hire.

A retail and distribution business with over 670 staff across 150 locations, the company operates with a HR team of just 5 people including 1 recruitment specialist.

Previously advertising vacancies solely in the local newspapers, vacancies are now advertised across a wide variety of online job boards including retail specific sites (such as RetailChoice and InRetail) in a much more cost-effective manner

Casting the net as widely as possible, our clients take advantage of low cost advertising packages, which allow them to target users of a minimum of 5 different job boards increasing both the quality and volume of response.

In addition they have not only introduced a dedicated corporate careers section on their website but also a highly effective candidate response management system which allows them to track the status of applications and streamline the recruitment process from start to finish.

15 months on, our clients’ success is evident. They have processed over 4800 applicants, reduced turnover by 11% due to the higher quality of candidates, reduced the time from advertisement to placement by 75% and significantly reduced their costs. With a large and growing database of applicants to re-visit the benefits look set to improve even further.

Credit Crunch takes effect

Regardless of size or industry, the credit crunch is affecting companies across the UK. Thankfully for networx the effect is a positive one as businesses seek more cost effective alternatives for necessary recruitment activity.

Although the level of recruitment for most companies is expected to subside companies will continue to have vacancies, which need to be recruited for. In fact in a time of uncertainty turnover for some companies may actually increase as employees are tempted to move for even the smallest wage increase.

Helping to reduce the average cost of recruitment by up to 80%, networx unique service unsurprisingly is of significant interest to the majority of companies.

Centralising your recruitment via a dedicated careers page.

Online recruitment is an extremely successful method of sourcing candidates, however for certain roles, the newspaper or specialist trade magazines are still the preferred method of reaching candidates.

In respect of this approach, networx now offer a low cost solution that allows companies to centralise candidates from a variety of sources through their corporate website.

In just a matter of hours, you could have a dedicated list of vacancies on your website which directs all candidates through to a bespoke online application form for each role. By simply using a press link you can benefit from multiple advertising campaigns, centralise all applications and ensure the consistent delivery of a high quality experience to each and every candidate.
