Innovate - August 09 - Job seekers want more from job boards than just job adverts.

As the online recruitment industry continues to develop it appears that the functionality of the Internet Job board has also changed. According to NORAS 2009, the majority of job seekers now look to job boards for much more than just access to the latest vacancies and seek a wide range of information to help support their search for employment and gain their ideal role. In fact only 32% of job seekers now visit job boards for the sole purpose to look for a new job. From a survey of more than 50,000 candidates across 31 job boards, it appears that job seekers now also use online job boards as a means of registering their CV’s for potential employers to consider, to seek career advice and conduct salary comparisons and to keep up to date in relation to developments within their industry. d.
