This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We are currently looking for a Head of Property Safety to join the Assets Team within our Homes and Investment function.  The role will focus on all compliance activities with a clear focus on fire and building safety. 

 

You will lead and manage all aspects of property safety, ensuring that First Choice Homes is fully compliant at all times through a holistic and robust property safety framework which achieves high quality standards, risk management and assurance.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Leading a dedicated team that will manage property safety across the asset portfolio, including fire safety, gas safety, electrical safety, water hygiene, maintenance of Mechanical and Electrical equipment and structural safety.  

  • Ensuring that the company is at the forefront of planning and implementing approaches that meet and exceed statutory, legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitoring changes around fire and building safety and implementing relevant approaches ensuring there is significant customer involvement and engagement.  

  • Leading on the delivery of key projects, providing strategic input and contributing to the overall management of First Choice Homes asset base.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Hold a degree (or equivalent) in Building Surveying, Construction or an equivalent trade.

  • Be a Chartered Member of a relevant body (e.g. IOSH, RICS,CIOB, RIBA, CIBSE).

  • Have experience of managing a compliance or health and safety related service for residential buildings covering at least three or more areas of safety / compliance, which includes fire safety.

  • Have good knowledge of the current housing related legislation of compliance work streams with a specific expertise in fire and building safety.

  • Be experienced in managing, developing and motivating staff.

  • Have a background in contract management, performance-led activities and change management.
