Job Outline:

To provide a market leading experience to customers or partners.  To achieve agreed commercial targets by maximising business and service opportunities from all contacts in a consistent, fair and compliant manner.

Working in our Berkeley Alexander brand (www.baonline.co.uk), we are seeking a customer services/insurance adviser, with the key elements/experience being:-

Handling all forms of SME commercial (shops, offices, commercial combined, liability, PI, D&O, Cyber, etc) plus property owners. Typical premiums up to £2,000pa. All policies are handled at distance (over the phone & by e-mail/post), so no client/agent visits are required.

Approx. 75% of the role is renewals focused & 25% handling mid-term inquiries with occasional new business inquiries when the workload permits.

Renewals – pre-renewal review, inviting, obtaining alternative quotes, looking to cross sell & up-sell, secure renewal instructions, arrange payment, etc. Typically 125-175 renewals per month within the book to be looked after, so it is a high volume business.
 
Mid-term enquiries – handle mid-term queries including payment queries & claims.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring business standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Processing correspondence, renewals activity, new business quotations.
  • Ensuring that all workflow activity is completed in accordance with approved business processes.
  • Ensuring calls are answered in a timely professional manner, ensuring the required customer experience is always delivered.
  • Understanding the client's demands and needs and providing insurance solutions to meet those demands and needs.  When this is not possible clearly explaining to the customer what cannot be met and why.
  • Complying with all approved procedures, customer service standards and external regulatory bodies.
  • Achieving and maintaining the required competencies for the role.
  • Ensuring that any customer complaints are identified and handled strictly within the company's complaints procedure.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous sales / service background - minimum 1 year's insurance experience in a broking or insurer field is preferred.
