Wirral-headquartered renewable bioenergy and CHP (Combined Heat and Power) specialists, Fleetsolve are expanding its workforce with the creation of an additional 70 jobs to meet the growing demand for its products and services.

Fleetsolve, a SIMEC Brand, is an award-winning business specialising in the design, manufacture and operation of liquid and gas-powered CHP units and power generation systems. Our range of applications begin at 5kWe through to 2.5mWe and everything in between. Our renewable power systems are utilised by a wide range of commercial application throughout the UK where a zero-carbon energy solution, reliability and grid resilience are critical.

The role of Internal Sales Engineer

  • As an integral part of the sales team, you will provide dedicated support relating to both CHP and power generation opportunities, whilst proactively creating and delivering technically and commercially accurate proposals for a wide range of services and activities
  • Supporting colleagues and customers with ad hoc technical and engineering advice when required. 
  • Interpret customer performance requirements, specifications and technically related documents.
  • To operate as an effective bridge between sales and customers whilst also managing the needs of internal stakeholders including engineering, projects, operations, and finance teams.
  • To demonstrate with customers a comprehensive understanding of CHP and power generation products inclusive of mechanical and electrical integration of equipment including additional balance of plant such as LTHW/MTHW/steam boilers, dry air coolers, biofuel tanks throughout the sales process.
  • A detailed understanding of the financial and environmental benefits of natural gas, diesel, biofuel CHP and power generation solutions.
  • Whilst supporting the sales process, you must be able to develop and deliver reliable and accurate proposals during all stages of the sales process in a concise, detailed and accurate manner.
  • Maintain and develop an authentic level of product knowledge, it’s application as well as the energy and environmental markets as well as legislative requirements.
  • To develop competitive quotations with enhanced technical and commercial solutions whilst understanding market influences and analysing competitor dynamics.  
  • Meeting bid deadlines or quickly identifying where an extension to deadlines maybe required inclusive of updating the sales team with possible opportunities or delay risks.
  • Building positive relationships with customers and potential customers to understand their needs as well demonstrating a positive customer experience from the outset of contacting or meeting a customer.
  • Identifying project technical/commercial risks and supporting activities associated with the procurement needs of the project including major plant and equipment, sub-contractor installation quotes and maintenance prices with support from the Operational and Engineering teams.  
  • Maintain accurate records of quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in the CRM and company databases.
  • The position will require UK and from time-to-time international travel, sometimes at short notice, as and when required.

 

Skills and qualifications

  • A sales engineering background with no less than 5 years’ experience.
  • An understanding of construction related projects including the mechanical and electrical (415v/11kv) integration of power generation equipment and DNO requirements.
  • Commercially aware with experience of contracts such as JCT, MF/1 as well as PPA’s and off-balance sheet energy service agreements such as PPA’s (Power Purchase Agreement).
  • A thorough understanding and experience within the renewable and energy markets.
  • A consistently high level of quality of work is required to ensure sustainable new business opportunities are maximised quickly.
  • The skillset to generate leads, pro-actively search for new opportunities and nurture potential growth.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Good knowledge and demonstarteable experience of MS office and general IT skills 
  • Critical thinker and problem solver.
