We are looking for an Associate to join our Real Estate team in London. The newest addition to the already highly successful team will be asked to advise on predominantly landlord and tenant work with some property finance, development, and investment matters as well. We would expect them to consistently deliver a high standard of legal advice to clients in a commercially astute manner, whilst delivering outstanding client service at all times. There would also be the requirement of supervising more junior fee earner within the team.

Our Real Estate teams work closely with commercial and residential property developers and landowners, commercial landlords and investors, banks and institutional lenders, commercial tenants or business owners. Our established professional network, including accountants, surveyors and planning consultants, ensure our clients benefit from an integrated approach.

We also operate in a variety of sectors, including Retail & Leisure, Health & Social Care, TMT & Life Sciences and Charities

Duties will include: 

  • Manage a caseload of files, dealing effectively with cases and transactions
  • Build credibility with clients and develops own client relationships through managing client expectations regarding options, outcomes, risk and timescales.
  • Scope fees for existing clients
  • Develop market and sector knowledge and demonstrate expertise to clients
  • Grow internal and external networks of clients, intermediaries and contacts
  • Build on personal and department profile and reputation by attending networking events, writing publications/ marketing materials and speaking at seminars
  • Begin to develop a niche/ sector expertise
  • Support juniors in the team by giving technical, business and general advice
  • Support with budgetary management of client matters
  • Begin to develop a network of own clients, contacts and potential referrers.
  • Spot opportunities to cross sell and build an internal network within the firm for cross referred work.
  • Continue to develop and learn in chosen areas of expertise, maintaining an up-to-date understanding of relevant law, policy and practice. 

Skills, Experience and Attributes

  • Qualified Solicitor or CILEx of 3+ PQE
  • Experience of Landlord and Tenant matters essential
  • Previous exposure to property finance, development, and investment matters would be advantageous
  • Demonstrable ability to supervise more junior team members
