Part Time - 26 hours per week



An exciting opportunity has arisen for Assistant Chefs to join our Extra Care Housing kitchen teams.


Working hours are between 8am and 5:30pm. With overtime available! The successful candidate will need to take charge of the delivery of the service when the Chef Manager is not on shift.

The positions:


  • Stokesley - 26 hours a week (to include 1 weekend in 3)

  • Brompton - 26 hours a week (to include 1 weekend in 3)


Both roles require you to work 4/5 out of 7 days, including 1 in 3 shifts over on a weekend. 


Responsibilities of the role:


As Assistant Chef, you will be responsible for preparing meals from the daily menu, managing kitchen supplies, and checking and maintaining equipment. With a focus on excellent customer focussed services, you’ll work to maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers whilst ensuring high standards of food quality.  


In short, you’ll be on hand to assist the Chef Manager to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. With this in mind, you will be comfortable leading others to constantly achieve high standards of work.


About you


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience of working within the catering industry.

  • A CIEH level 2 cert in Food Hygiene and Level 2 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).

  • The ability to supervise staff.

  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and the principles of healthy eating.
