We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Insurance Manager to join our Commercial & Leisure division which comprises Commercial Combined, Property Owners, SME Commercial Packages, General Liability (non-contracting) and Leisure risks. This is a full time, permanent opportunity ideally based in Leigh-on-sea or surrounding areas.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage commercial department
  • Underwriting of commercial risks under a variety of delegated binding authorities
  • Develop and maintain a profitable book of business
  • Create and maintain relationships with brokers, insurers and other business partners
  • Provide support to junior members including referrals
  • Work within personal authority limits
  • Work within parameters of delegated authorities
  • Meet agreed company service levels and standards
  • Work within all legal/regulatory requirement
  • Meet individual target and contribute towards team targets

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideally CII qualified or working towards
  • Minimum 5 years’ proven underwriting experience in commercial combined sector (bias on general liability would be advantageous)
  • Proficient with Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
