We are currently looking for a Technical Academy Development Manager to join our MGA to build and establish a new Underwriting Academy within the segment on a fixed term contract.

About the opportunity:

To support with the establishment of a Technical Underwriting, Actuarial and Data Science Academy across the MGA segment, ensuring this fits the strategic vision which includes multiple entry points into the programme e.g. apprenticeships, graduates and those with existing technical backgrounds that require both technical and personal development

Job Description:

  • Agree with key stakeholders the scope, breadth of coverage, workstreams, resource availability and key milestones for the Academy project then build out an appropriate framework and plan
  • Lead and manage the Academy Working Group recording and monitoring related activity and actions 
  • Report to the CUO office and relevant committees the progress against plan on a RAG status basis by relevant workstreams
  • Support the engagement with internal and external parties re current technical and personal development training/development materials and professional qualification programmes (from foundation stage through to Associate/Fellowship) that can form the constitution of the Academy professional map / pathway with clear progression points
  • Complete a gap analysis that will support the development of any new materials utilising skilled resource from within the MGA, across the Ardonagh group and externally – assessing the most effective delivery methods (face to face, webinars, Ardonagh MyLearning, online learning etc)
  • Utilise the Apprenticeship levy arrangement 
  • Link the framework to the UW Licencing framework and records
  • Ensure scheduled technical training and development work meets the requirements of the training and competency framework and can be attached to CPD  
  • Develop the programme so that it caters for the swift integration of acquisitions

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional Certification – ACII qualified or progress towards.
  • Proficient in Windows based applications, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working in an Insurer/MGA environment
