Glenholme Respite Service, West Vale, Halifax

We are a registered CQC service with a score of Good in all areas from our last CQC inspection. Our service thrives on building strong relationships with individuals by supporting people and providing consistent, effective care.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a respite service for up to a maximum of 14 people each night who have a learning disability and require support. People using the service have a diverse range of support needs. People may also have behaviours of concern, a physical disability and/or mental health issues.  

There are currently approximately 40 people using the service on a regular basis.

The service is dynamic and fast paced, providing short term support to people who currently live with their families or carers. The service also provides emergency support to people with learning disabilities if circumstances require it.

You will be the CQC registered manager being responsible for the provision of a high-quality service through the development of a skilled, experienced, diverse and motivated team.

As well as working as a part of a team to maintain or improve clients’ health and wellbeing, you will ensure the service is compliant with CQC and local authority requirements, and support with effective management of all aspects of the service.  

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate supervisory skills and the ability to motivate a team and be creative with service development. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, this includes being able to communicate effectively with family, carers and a variety of other professionals.

Most importantly you will be able to demonstrate respect and understanding of clients’ rights and needs. You will have previous experience and knowledge surrounding risk assessment and health and safety procedures. You must have sound IT knowledge and be confident in use of Microsoft Office including Word and Outlook and using the Internet.

The successful candidate will possess Level 5 Health and Social Care or equivalent or be willing to work towards this once in post.
