The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a professional Senior Buyer who has specialised within the Catalyst, Industrial Gases and Technology Support Category.
The role holder will be required to design, implement and manage the company strategic vision and direction for this category, whilst managing key internal and external stakeholders to optimise spend and value.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in leading complex commodity sourcing and end to end contract management. They will have demonstrable relevant experience in this area and have had spend capacity of up to £15 million per year. They will need to produce and manage the rolling five year forecasting plans for the category and have the ability to partner the business focal point to ensure they are maximising value for the company.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a relevant degree in a commercial or technical field, as well as having a CIPS qualification, although candidates working towards this qualification may also be considered. Ideally, it would be beneficial if a candidate has Six Sigma qualifications. The individual must have proven ability in contract negotiation as well as stakeholder management.
They will be required to support the wider chemical focused Procurement Team when required and will need to support the drive to a category management culture that focuses on commercial outcomes for the company, which support the PSM Team vision.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and will be required to regularly present to the Senior Leadership Team to gain approval for sourcing strategy and spend. They will be a highly organised and resilient individual, who will look to challenge the ‘status quo’ in order to push through change and optimisation for business.
