Our Homecare team really love what they do! Working in partnership with our NHS colleagues to provide individualised quality nursing care to patients requiring Parenteral Nutrition in their home.

We are recruiting for a Practice Development Nurse to support with the training and development of our Homecare nursing team to ensure we maintain and enhance the high quality standard of nursing which is the essence of our service.

Reporting to the Regional Lead Nurse, you will be a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic individual.

Here is what you can expect to be doing:

  • To have a flexible approach to the rota, including working unsociable hours, and work in conjunction with the nurses to ensure patient visits are covered ahead of any training requirements.
  • Promote and be proficient at new clinical procedures, including cannulation, ensuring they are implemented according to the company requirements.
  • Coordinate the mandatory and product based training for all nurses including bank – organise and book all classroom and practical training required for the Nurses in line with the training procedure.
  • Review of Nurse Competency training for new starters and experienced staff.
  • Be responsible for the clinical induction of all new nurses.
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess competency of nurses, adherence to ANTT, documentation and record keeping, technique and efficiency whilst training patients, compliance with local Trust and National Framework requirements and ensuring Nurses act in line with the NMC Code of Conduct and B. Braun Standard Operating Procedures.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Be a Registered General Nurse with current NMC qualifications
  • Be experienced within an Intensive Care/High dependency/General surgery environment or at a senior nursing level
  • Have in-depth knowledge of supporting patients requiring Home Parenteral Nutrition/IV Therapies.
  • Have a positive attitude towards new clinical skills and procedures.
  • Have the ability to coach, mentor, inspire and motivate others.
  • Be competent in the management and delivery of IV therapies, CVADs, venepuncture and cannulation
  • Possess excellent communication, time management skills and the ability to work to strict timescales

Location: Working with trusts and patients in Manchester and the surrounding areas.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours over 5 days per week on a rolling rota.
