Environmental consultant – Dubai or Abu Dhabi

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced environmental consultant to join our offices in Dubai or Abu Dhabi to help deliver high-level consultancy services.

The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with authoring environmental, social and health impact assessments (ESHIA), strategic environmental assessments (SEA), and management plans
  • Coordinating and overseeing environmental baseline surveys and monitoring projects
  • Inputting into tenders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory authorities
  • Willingness to travel within the region, including travel to Iraq and KSA for short missions.

Desired experience:

  • BSc degree level qualified in a relevant environmental discipline or engineering discipline (preferably chemical/environmental engineers)
  • Preference for a MSc degree in environmental management, environmental technology, ESHIA, environmental engineering or related environmental or engineering subject
  • Ambitions for chartered status and corporate membership of a relevant professional body (i.e., IEMA or equivalent)
  • Over 4 years previous experience working in environmental consulting including providing permitting support, environmental monitoring, environmental management planning, compliance audits, modelling and site assessments
  • Good understanding of the ESHIA process, international environmental and social legislation, guidelines and standards, and international project financing mechanisms and implications
  • Specialist knowledge in a technical discipline, for example biodiversity, marine or waste management
  • Experience in scribing environmental impact identification (ENVID) workshops
  • Experience in editing and report collation
  • Excellent English (written and verbal) communication skills
  • Experience of working on multiple projects, simultaneously
  • Ability to co-ordinate tasks and liaise with team members
  • Willingness to travel for short periods of time across the region
  • Fluency in a second language - Arabic advantageous
  • UAE driving license
