ADAS is seeking an Ecological Consultant to join our Cardiff team who can help us to deliver work by carrying out desk studies, Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, Ecological Constraints Surveys and a wide range of protected species surveys.

ADAS has over 75 years of experience within the consultancy and research sectors. We have a nationwide ecology team of approachable, skilled and knowledgeable people. We work on a variety of big and small projects from development, utilities, renewable energy and rural industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking a variety of surveys including extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and EcoCheck surveys and more specialist work such as protected species surveys and mitigation
  • Working alone and with our existing ecologists in the wider region to ensure quality projects are delivered on time to our clients
  • Talking to our clients to ensure quality delivery of projects to deadlines
  • Writing of technical reports ready for review by your colleagues, such as ecological constraints reports, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and protected species reports

Person Specification:

  • The ability to work alone with remote support from the wider region
  • Graduate level education in a relevant subject
  • A good baseline knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques
  • Excellent written communication skills and be able to produce concise technical reports
  • A pro-active attitude to managing your own time, finding solutions and ensuring that work is delivered on time and to the required standards
  • A full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and be commutable to our office
