This is a Full Time/Flexible Working, Permanent vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We have an opportunity for a Electrically biased Resident Engineer to carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works to building plant, equipment and systems as well as respond to site engineering emergencies within agreed service levels.


Wates Smartspace FM provides a Total Facilities Management (TFM) solution for our clients, self-delivering planned and reactive M&E services, with an absolute focus on 100% uptime of critical building infrastructure.


Key Accountabilities will include:


  • Carry out routine maintenance to all building plant, equipment and systems in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Ensure that reactive breakdowns are carried out in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Complete timesheets accurately, recording site time, expenses etc. and submit weekly with report sheets.
  • Record all reactive and PPM tasks accurately and in detail using FSIGo, complete report sheets and ensure signed by the client weekly.
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to provide safe working practices.
  • Supervise subcontractors effectively.
  • Encourage a safe and healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures
  • High levels of customer service, maintaining effective relationships with key client contacts.


We are looking for a competent and effective Resident Engineer who is an excellent communicator with the ability to problem solve, multi task and work to tight deadlines.


To be successful in the role you will also be able to carry out minor fabric repairs and have experience in carrying out temperature adjustments on BMS systems.
