About Two Rivers Housing

Two Rivers Housing provides affordable housing for more than 4,200 families. With an annual turnover of circa £25 million, we are a community-based local housing provider, with 165 colleagues including a significant direct labour team.

We believe that everyone should have access to a warm, safe, affordable home.

Since our creation in 2003, we have been committed to increasing the availability of affordable housing in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties. In fact, in 2018 we pledged to build a further 1,000 affordable homes in the area by 2028.

In September 2020, we secured a private investment of £80m to support the delivery of new homes and invest in improving our older properties. We also secured a government grant of more than half a million pounds from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund in 2021 to support a full retrofit pilot project at a number of our homes in Blakeney.

As a small local housing association, we are truly part of the local community. Over the years, we have supported many community events and projects, working with local schools, the police and other community partners.

We not only want to provide affordable homes, we want to create great homes that support communities.

Working with us

We have adopted a hybrid model of working where our people work flexibly in the most effective ways possible. At the heart of that is our continued commitment to a physical office presence close to our communities in the Forest of Dean. Time spent in the office is about visible leadership and enabling us to engage with teams and create a culture focused on delivering high-quality customer services.

We are committed to delivering services that embrace diversity, equality, inclusion and fairness and welcome applications from people from a range of backgrounds and life experiences.

People lie at the heart of Two Rivers Housing’s success and we offer great rewards in return for great contributions from our staff.

We have always been deeply committed to training, motivating, and developing our staff in a variety of ways, and our continuing focus on this has been recognised by several prestigious external organisations. We’ve also won awards for our apprenticeship training programme.

Here are just a few of the many reasons why we – and others – think Two Rivers Housing is an excellent organisation to work for.

  • We’re a not-for-profit community association that makes a real difference to the lives of thousands of people.
  • We work in a modern, environmentally-friendly office, which has been nationally-accredited for energy-efficiency, sustainability, and workplace safety.
  • We offer a flexible approach to working styles and work-life balance, including agile working policies and our job-share and part-time contracts.
  • We believe in having fun at work too! We run social events, summer barbecues, morning briefings with breakfast thrown in, an annual all-staff awayday and there’s always a plentiful supply of cake to raise money for charity and celebrate special occasions!
  • We support every member of staff to provide one day each year to support community projects that are really valued by the organisations and charities we help through activities such as gardening, litter picking, and painting.
