This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

What you will be doing: 

  • Processing and managing the monthly payroll for both ARAG plc and IRE ALP from start to finish, liaising with our third-party payroll agent 

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies in payroll and implement remedial action when required, liaising with our finance team where necessary 

  • Take control of our various benefits platforms to ensure they are up to date and be the point of contact for any benefits queries 

  • Complete all HMRC and ONS submissions 

  • Ensure HR system, Cascade, is up to date and maintained 

  • Resolve HR queries where appropriate and escalate where necessary 

  • Support managers from across the business with their recruitment campaigns.  From explaining our ATS, monitoring applications and the shortlisting process, assisting in arranging interviews where necessary, making verbal job offers, generating offer letters and contracts and running background screening.  

  • Supporting the L and D function with day-to-day admin 

  • Supporting the HR team to deliver timely HR metrics


Who we’re looking for 

  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience 

  • Sound knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and current payroll and tax legislation, RTI and auto-enrolment 

  • Comfortable working with IT solutions, particularly Excel and Word 

  • Commitment to good communication, teamwork open-mindedness, equal opportunities, and diversity 

  • Ideally qualified in a discipline relevant to the role @NVQ 3 or higher 

  • Minimum Grade C English and Maths GCSE or equivalent 

  • Demonstrable HRIS expertise including development of workflows (ideally within Cascade, but any superuser HRIS experience would be good) 

  • Experience of payroll software solutions desirable 

  • Proven experience and general acumen in generalist HR would be desirable
