Moore Barlow is seeking a Senior Associate (or ambitious Associate) - Planning to join our Real Estate team. This opportunity offers significant opportunity for personal development, and a career path to Partnership. This role is available on a hybrid basis from our Southampton office.

We are different - although a Top UK Regional Law firm, we strive to be different. We give people the space and flexibility in where and how they work to deliver the best experience to our teams and clients alike. This means much more than just hybrid working – we are ambitious and seek to be recognised as the best regional law firm to work for.

Our Real Estate team provides services across Residential Property, Commercial Property and Land Development. We offer an integrated service and already have a portfolio of Clients delivering a pipeline of Real Estate Planning opportunities.

Day to day you will manage your own caseload of client work across a variety of planning matters. You’ll draft and advise on planning matters including section 106 Agreements and unilateral undertakings, planning appeals, applications, planning objections and compulsory purchase. Ultimately, this post is critical in helping our Clients achieve successful planning outcomes.

Our Clients are typically residential developers (including joint venture partnerships), housebuilders and contractors as well as landowners.

Whilst our core offering is with residential planning, we are a growing practice and also plan over time to deliver an even more integrated service covering the full spectrum of planning matters. This means that the role offers genuine opportunity for the suitable candidate to build and grow our offering through further diversification in planning advice. For example, you may seek to develop our offering to include advising on infrastructure planning such as S38 Highways Agreements as part of a more holistic service, offering Clients a fuller and more wide reaching service.

Ultimately, the successful postholder will work with our established Real Estate team to continue to grow the planning practice, whilst progressing their career to Partnership.

What we look for:

Primarily, we are a friendly and outgoing team with a passion for real estate and we therefore look for the same. We are seeking a senior associate (or ambitious associate) with experience in planning. This may have been gained within another legal practice, inhouse at a housebuilder or developer or within a local authority.

We are keen to hear from people with an eye for detail, great problem solving skills and with a genuine keenness to develop their career further.

Whatever your background, you will find Moore Barlow a rewarding and supportive organisation.

If you have the above skills and experience – we’d strongly encourage you to apply online.
