Due to the success and growth of our Environment and Planning Department based in Dublin, our portfolio of projects has increased significantly. We now wish to capitalise on this success and build on our ambition by expanding our Environmental and Planning Team.

We are seeking a Graduate Environmental Consultant/Intern to work within our growing Environmental and Planning Team on challenging and exciting infrastructure projects across various sectors (e.g., water services, renewables, aviation etc.).

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to join a well-established and reputable engineering and environmental consultancy, in a friendly, dynamic, and flexible working environment with the opportunity of working on a range of prestigious infrastructure projects in Ireland, UK and Internationally.

NOD will provide the successful candidate with the tools and support needed to achieve their professional development ambitions, including chartership with the relevant international professional institution. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

A Graduate Environmental Consultant will, amongst other things, be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the coordination and preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Appropriate Assessments, planning application documentation, licences and permits and other environmental reports.
  • Assisting in the provision of technical inputs to environmental assessment projects, including data collection and analysis.
  • Coordination of sub-consultants contributing to projects.
  • Providing advice on environmental issues.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions.
  • Providing support to senior members of the Environmental and Engineering Teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for a Candidate with the following qualifications and skills:

  • A degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related discipline (or for an intern to be in the process of completing same).
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive.
  • Strong research and report writing skills.
  • Have a flexible approach with a willingness to actively participate as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to interrogate data.
  • Excellent organisational and coordinating skills.
  • Have a desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated, pragmatic and solution driven.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
