Overview:

Our Talent Acquisition function plays a critical role in future proofing RLB’s Talent strategy, ensuring that the business attracts and selects high quality, diverse candidates who have the potential to become our future leaders. Our goal is to provide a seamless experience to both candidates applying for our programmes and our internal stakeholders; adding value at every stage of the process.

The Early Careers TA Consultant would be entrusted with driving the design, implementation and management of an Early Careers framework at RLB, including apprenticeship, work experience and graduate programmes.

You will work with key stakeholders across the business to improve and manage the delivery of the Early Careers programmes that contribute to building our strategic talent pipeline of critical skills and capabilities.

Through engagement with the market, you will confirm RLB’s position as an Employer of Choice by providing a positive recruitment experience and advising on best practice relating to all things Early Careers.

And just as importantly, we will support and encourage you to develop your own skills and expertise, giving you the tools and opportunity to continue to build your own external brand and be an expert in this space.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Source, select, assess, recruit Graduates, Apprentices and Year-Out Work Placement students including:

  • Managing end to end recruitment process for all early careers pipelines;
  • Building positive and engaging relationships with schools, colleges and Universities;Organising, attending and presenting (if applicable) at job fairs/early careers events;
  • Assist in developing & designing consistent and fair assessment and selection processes to ensure we fulfil our ED&I goals, including organising and facilitating virtual interviews and Assessment days for applicants.

In collaboration with our Learning & Development Team, utilise the Apprenticeship Levy, identify apprenticeships covered under the levy, source levy providers, organise review meetings and maintain records and reconciling Levy spend.

Manage the Work Experience and Summer Intern scheme, liaising with other departments regarding the students on placement.

Manage overall attraction strategy including:

  • Influence and shape social media strategy across internal careers social media platforms
  • Create, manage and schedule attraction events across the UK and Europe

Forge strong and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as the first point of contact for all Early Careers recruitment queries.

 

Operational and strategic responsibilities

In addition to the above, and with guidance and support from the Head of Talent Acquisition, we would like to see you develop and fulfil the following aspects of the role:

Business Awareness;

  • Have full awareness and understanding of the Early Careers strategy and objectives, as well as the HR and overall business strategy;
  • Ensure that robust, clear and effective processes and procedures are in place and documented for all key Early Careers activity;

Collaboration

  • Partner with the wider Talent Acquisition, HR and Learning and Development team, Marketing and Comms teams to deliver all operational and strategic Early Careers objectives, offering innovative solutions and creating project plans to support key activities;
  • Build strong, effective relationships with Early Careers suppliers, ensuring maximum value is being extracted from each relationship;

Innovation and change

  • Support the Learning & Development team with the evolution of our Early Careers Assessment. Create plans and processes to ensure the approach is innovative and that it delivers a first-class candidate experience which results in quality hires for the business;
  • Assist the Head of Talent Acquisition in establishing and maintaining robust succession plans, and objectives;
  • Analysing data and key metrics to ensure goals are being achieved. Providing insight and recommendations to encourage a culture of continuous improvement;
  • Overseeing designated Early Careers projects to ensure they will be delivered in a timely manner, to a consistently great standard, meeting the objectives they set out to achieve;

Communication

  • Have the ability to clearly and proactively articulate the Early Careers Strategy and objectives to the wider teams to ensure messaging is consistent and fully understood;
  • Be an ambassador of RLB culture and behaviours. Responsible for maintaining a positive, collaborative working environment;

 

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience of Early Careers talent attraction, assessment, selection, management and development.
  • Sound knowledge and a clear passion for the ever-changing Early Careers / Talent landscape
  • Strong project management skills with a flexible, organised and calm approach to work is essential.
  • Sound knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy and how this can be utilised in line with government regulation to drive strategic business talent outcomes.
  • Ability to understand and react to opportunities for external brand recognition through award and league table opportunities across the Early Careers space to drive external recognition agenda.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels is essential.
  • Confident using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Previous experience of working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Strong understanding of HR and Recruitment best practise.
  • The ability to understand strategic goals, and determine practical ways to put them into action, utilising all resources available to achieve success.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive projects through to completion.
  • Must be a team player with a willingness to help others..
