Liberty Speciality Steels currently has an opportunity for a Team Leader on our HSV site (attached to Rotherham) 

Working Hours - 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday

HSV is a facility operated by Liberty Steel UK that produces lime based steel making additions that are key to speciality steel making.

The role involves managing a small team of operators ensuring that the operation is managed safely and efficiently at the lowest cost.

  • The team leader will be responsible for reporting on stock levels and placing orders for incoming materials as well as ensuring customers receive materials on time and in full to prevent downstream delays.
  • Quality control of the products will also feature in the role with the successful applicant being able to communicate with suppliers and customers on a regular basis.
  • The role will also require an amount of “hands on” operations to cover for holidays and sickness so a fork lift truck licence will be required.
  • The site is also currently accredited to ISO45001, AS9001 and IATF16949 standards which the team leader will be responsible for managing on a day to day basis.

The team leader will be supported by the leadership team at Aldwarke Cast Products and will report into the refractory manager. Successful applicants will have good leadership skills and be competent with the IT systems and software needed for all administration on site.

Daily Responsibilities:

 

  • Matching the ACP Alloy Stores stock count with the melting programme production (through the AMS admin gen system) to calculate HSV production requirements
  • Produce paperwork for transport logistics via the HSV delivery note system
  • Organise and supervise the 2 team members to produce and load product.
  • Provide illness/holiday cover for team members as required
  • Produce QA documentation and store/retrieve in accordance with QMS processes
  • Organise health and safety activities to enable compliance with regulations

 

Weekly Responsibilities:

 

  • Complete the files/records required by ACP Accounting at the close of play each week
  • Time booking for the HSV team members in the LN WFM system
  • Conduct physical stock check
  • Order raw materials in line with HSV production requirements
  • Book transport requirements for following week
  • Plan production sequence and targets in line with the following weeks internal and external customer demand.  Highlight any issues/production blockers to ACP stakeholders.

More less frequent responsibilities can be discussed with any potential candidates.

As Required:

 

  • Reviews with raw material suppliers
  • Preparing and dealing with internal and external QMS audits
  • Responsibilities in line with PICC
  • Organising engineering repairs for breakdowns and maintenance
  • Liaise with ACP H&S lead for training and e-learning
  • Request invoices for external sales
