The opportunity
Searching for change?
Be part of a transformational programme that’ll change the way we operate. Discover and implement new technologies to deliver a better colleague and customer experience. Create an environment for colleagues that’s flexible and supportive, you spend your best waking hours at work after all.
What we’re all about
You might think of Yorkshire Housing as ‘just’ a housing provider, but we’re so much more than that. Yes, we own and manage nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire and make it possible for current and future customers to have a place they’re proud to call home, but we’re also all about making a positive difference in people’s lives.
We’ve got big plans to overhaul the traditional customer service offer, build new homes that are truly future-proof and empower our people through flexibility and freedom to do their best work.
Our investment in technology is a key pillar of our strategy and our Change team are working on exciting, complex and ambitious programmes to deliver a pre-emptive customer experience.
Interested yet?
We need talented Project Managers who will work on and deliver our small to medium projects in our ambitious transformational programmes.
You’ll play a key part in shaping and driving the future of Yorkshire Housing with loads of scope (and big budgets!) for new ideas, innovation and progress.
You can work where, when and how you want with our hub, home, roam approach. No need to pick a job you can commute to over the one you really want. We believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go.
It’s a role with meaning, so you’ll be making a real difference to thousands of customers’ lives with what you do.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be part of a portfolio management team responsible for a number of small to medium projects. They’ll focus on transforming how we deliver our services and supporting our colleagues so they can deliver a great customer experience.
There are a variety of projects on the go, including implementing new core systems, improving our front line services and piloting technology for smart homes of the future.
Making sure that sound project management processes and controls are in so projects can be delivered to time, budget and all the benefits are realised too.
You’ll play a big part in our culture of continuous improvement.
Work across different teams and collaborate with different stakeholders at all levels.
Sounds right up your street, doesn’t it? Here’s what we need from you…
You’ll have proven experience in successful project delivery and worked on significantly sized projects before. Ideally, this might’ve been in a customer facing industry and/or in social housing. Ideally, you’ll have experience in an organisation undertaking transformational change and have recent experience working on projects simultaneously, using project management methodology.
What’s important is that you will be able to ‘make it happen’ (which is one of our values!). You’ll be proactive, a confident communicator and enjoy building collaborative relationships and influencing stakeholders at different levels within the business.
Also, be able to champion the use of IT and other new tech thanks to your proven experience in successfully delivering projects. This along with being detailed and having a high standard of work, ensuring the relevant governance processes are met.
What’s in it for you
In return, we are offering a salary of £47,473.06 (per annum) for a 35-hour week, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus bank holidays.
But that’s not all! We offer a reward package to suit everyone. At YH, you can claim back for prescriptions, eye tests and more with our cash plan, make the most of a variety of retail discounts and take advantage of our pension scheme where we’ll match your contributions up to 9%, just to name a few.
Our people’s health and wellbeing is one of our top priorities, and you can make the most of our readily available wellbeing support package. This includes access to a library of free fitness classes, as well as an instant My GP service and free counselling sessions with a trained professional.
So, now you’re really interested?
We’re actively building a work environment that’s inclusive as well as diverse, where everyone can contribute their best work and be themselves. We believe difference is what makes us stronger and recognise the importance of our teams reflecting the communities we serve, so we welcome and encourage candidates from all backgrounds for this role. If you need support with part of the application process, please contact our recruitment team.
The fine print
This is an agile homeworking position, and you’ll be comfortable travelling to and within Yorkshire as required for the role.
The closing date for this advert is Monday 4th July 2022 but we may begin contacting candidates for interview prior to closing so please don’t miss the chance and apply asap!
Our values
We’re looking for people who want to get stuck in and make a positive difference to people’s lives. We want you to own the work you do and achieve impact.
You’ll make it happen by being curious and creating trust with our customers and each other. We want you to love what you do and have fun along the way.
A bit more about us
We’ve got a few ‘house rules’ at Yorkshire Housing (no pun intended!). One of them is work is something that you do, not somewhere that you go and another is that we think in careers, not jobs. Our flexible working environment and friendly culture means you can be yourself, take advantage of development opportunities and succeed – that’s just how we roll.
We’re inclusive and welcoming and offer a fun and open culture with a shared belief in making a positive difference to people’s lives – it really does feel like joining a big family!
