Central Alliance a RSK Group Company is currently offering an exciting new opportunity to join their team.  We currently have an Assistant Driller role that we are looking for strong applicants for.

Assistant Driller

Key duties and responsibilities: 

  • Acting as an assistant driller primarily for rotary drilling although there may be a requirement to undertake cable percussive boring, window sample drilling and concrete coring.
  • Undertake duties of an assistant driller as dictated by workload.
  • Weekend working on railway sites will be required from time to time.
  • Oversee department plant, equipment and tools including repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Adhere to best working practice and industry standards, training and guidance to be provided.
  • Adhere to working instructions as specified internally from engineers, directors lead drillers and supervisors.
  • Provide paperwork, namely timesheets on a weekly basis for approval.
  • Communicate with internal parties. Essential Professional/Technical

Skills & Qualifications 

  • The post holder will be expected to attend and pass internal and industry recognised external training courses. These may include but not be limited to, PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, CSCS, towing license, CAT, First Aid and manual handling training.
  • Maintenance of ground investigation plant, equipment and tools.
  • UK Driving License 
  • On the job training will be provided. Personal Skills:
