Account Handler

Principal Tasks

o Liaising with regional producing brokers
o Preparing market submissions and placing documentation
o Producing policy documentation, certificates and midterm endorsements
o Raising invoices / debit notes and London Market closings
o Coordinate survey requests and communicate any requirements raised
o Maintain clear, accurate and comprehensive files
o Data Entry in various computer platforms (Excel, Novus, GXB)
o Adhere to and promote compliance (FCA, TCF, GDPR) requirements
o Assist in reconciliation of IBA queries


o Take instructions from existing clients, ensuring cover commences at the correct time, all relevant paperwork is completed, premium is collected, and relevant records and diary entries are created.
o Negotiate satisfactory renewal of your accounts to ensure that the renewal retention rate is exceeded
o Liaise with your broking colleagues to ensure smooth transition on all renewal and mid-term adjustments
o Check thoroughly all client documentation before despatch, ensuring queries are raised and amendments completed
o Control your own diary system, ensuring all items are followed up by the due dates, particularly in relation to outstanding documentation from clients or insurers, premium payments, survey and subjectivity matters
o Provide back up to the team and Department Manager by taking responsibility of the renewal list and maintaining MI stats
o Assist in compiling and contribute toward the monthly management report
o Ensure a professional and expedient level of service is maintained on all matters
o Any general duties that may be required by your Manager in accordance with the nature of this job.

Generic Knowledge Requirements

o Sufficient knowledge of UK Commercial Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance
o Good working knowledge of the underwriters and London markets
o Good working knowledge of the UK regulatory requirements and relevant insurance and UK regulatory requirements
