Summary:

 

MPW E-UK Engineering team supports the maintenance and operation of industry leading Steam and Gas Turbines, Generators as well as associated equipment. In order to support the operation and maintenance of this equipment we are looking for an Intern capable developing 3D Cad models for subsequent analysis in FEM.

Job Description:

 

MITSUBISHI POWER EUROPE is seeking an FEA/CAD Intern to work on developing and analysing components for gas and steam turbines

The Intern will be developing and designing models involving:

CAD geometries and technical drawings,

FEA thermal and structural analysis,

The Intern will work closely with engineering, and product development groups and teams within the organisation, for active problem solving

 

  • To Generate 3D drawings of components with parametric programming in Creo, Solidworks etc
  • To Transfer models from drafting software’s into finite element analysis tools
  • Conduct finite element analysis in (thermal, structural etc.)
  • Interrogate the data for resolving errors and improving the accuracy of solutions to withstand internal and external challenges supported by other team members
  • Provide regular reports and presentation, documenting progress and open actions
  • Preparation of technical documentation, reports, specifications, and drawings

 

Person Specification:

 

  • Minimum level of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Aeronautical Engineering or similar.
  • Solid understanding of Engineering fundamentals:
    • Strength of Materials - Materials Science and Metallurgy,
    • Fluid Mechanics,
    • Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer,
    • Machine Design- Dynamics of Machines and Vibrations,
    • Production Technologies and Machinery
  • Knowledge of Engineering software’s like CAD, FEM, CFD would be a bonus.
  • Awareness of Engineering Codes and Standards, Regulatory and Legal norms for compliance regimes would be a bonus.
