Position: Management Accountant

Location: Kirby Muxloe - LE9 2BJ

Salary: £35,000

An exciting opportunity has become available for a technically strong and analytical Management Accountant  to join a national retailer. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the group financial reporting requirements, the financial and tax reporting as well as supporting the financial governance and controls for the organisation.
 

Key Responsibilities for the Financial Controller

  • As part of a team produce monthly and year-end accounts
  • Own areas of the the monthly management accounts process
  • Support the year-end reporting and audit process (group & statutory)
  • Support the Financial Controller in managing the legal entity financial reporting and taxation obligations for the group, including consolidation
  • Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Working with internal, external tax auditors, consultants and other service providers
  • Support the development and governance of accounting policies and procedures
  • Play a role in developing a strong finance and accounting team
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies and raise financial awareness across the business
  • Project work to build business and improve streamline systems, processes and controls
  • Become an expert on the Financial Systems, including the implementation and development of new systems as required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to identify & solve ambiguous problems & design models
  • High attention to detail & ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience in a group structure with multiple entities
  • Experience in Sage as well as experience in implementation of Financial Reporting Systems
  • ACA /ACCA/CIMA part qualified or relevant Finance degree, with a clear willingness to complete the qualification
  • Double entry booking keeping experience essential
  • Experience with standard costing
