The Motor Products Team play a key role in determining and overseeing the range of offerings that are available to customers in the Motor market.

As a Product Development Manager, you will be part of a high performing team working collaboratively with the Sales, Marketing, Finance, Risk and Operations functions. The work we do needs to consider the impact on all these teams, from the commercial performance we work towards and the quality of business we will attract, whilst ensuring we are delivering exceptional outcomes for our customers

About the role – what you will be doing in our team

Reporting to the Senior Manager of New Propositions, Motor Finance, the role holder will be responsible for executing the Strategic Proposition Development agenda.  The role holder will discover, develop and deliver new products and propositions to defined target markets whilst adhering to both the spirit and letter of regulation.

Key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Brings to market new propositions and products
  • Informs prioritisation of the Strategic Proposition Development agenda
  • Provides subject matter expertise across the relevant projects and initiatives 
  • Delivers robust financial business cases to support proposals
  • Validates opportunities with commercial ROI and value measures, market insight and customer research
  • Defines target markets and customer segments and appropriate outcomes in terms of value and benefits
  • Collaborates with Product Analysts to create robust reporting for all new products and propositions
  • Collaborates with Motor Leadership to identify emerging markets, new products and evolving customer needs
  • Adheres to Product Development, Change Management and Governance processes
  • Influences wide variety of stakeholders within MNF & ALD Group

What we're looking for

  • Experience in bringing new products to market or developing existing products within a regulated environment (preferred, but not essential if you have product /product management experience)
  • Experience in optimising customer journeys and experience
  • Experience of delivering tangible benefits
  • Experience in stakeholder management, engagement and influence
  • Experience of building commercial business cases
  • Experience of delivering change as part of a cross-functional team
  • Experience in financial services or similarly complex sectors
  • Commercial and analytical skills with an ability to articulate into insights and opportunities 
  • Ability to build effective relationships across the business and work collaboratively across a range of teams
  • Effective communicator across all mediums
  • Committed to good customer outcomes and building customer value
  • Highly collaborative team player
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to deliver results under pressure
  • Experience of engaging and influencing others
  • Effective at planning and managing own workload and have the ability to split time between reactive tasks and planned project work
