Aerodrome Maintenance and Project Coordinator

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Main Purpose of Job:

To plan and coordinate delivery of the airfield maintenance and projects in accordance with the Aerodrome Maintenance Schedule to enable the airfield assets to meet the safety requirements of CAP 168 Licencing of Aerodromes and CAA 139/2014. Lead the design and delivery of small projects to meet cost, time, quality, safety and sustainability targets.


Serve as a project manager on various airfield works; prepare and maintain the maintenance schedule, prioritising works to meet the requirements of the Head of Aerodrome Operations.

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Support the Airside Delivery Manager with integrating airfield and infrastructure changes, including but not limited to documents, procedures, assessments and training
  • Support the Airside Delivery Manager in delivering the aerodrome maintenance strategy and activities including but not limited to; airfield horticulture, pavement, airfield lighting, friction, drainage and inspections
  • Project manage the work of contractors delivering airfield maintenance and small projects
  • Support tender and procurement processes
  • Prepare budget estimates, obtain quotes, raise purchase orders and track expenditure
  • Prepare works permits in a timely manner; including assessment of risk assessments and method statements
  • Establishes and maintains airfield maintenance activities in accordance with CAP 139/2014, CAP 168 and CAP 772
  • Undertake inspections of the airfield, including horticulture, pavement, visual aids and friction ensuring they are closely monitored, and that planned and preventative maintenance activities are undertaken accordingly
  • Perform regular work site inspections, and contractor performance management
  • Undertake work handbacks when required
  • Prepare reporting and notification of activities and KPI’s relating to Aerodrome works
  • Ensuring maintenance and project activities are monitored and identified items are actioned
  • Plan, forecast, review and implement all required maintenance activities ensuring all regulatory requirements are met
  • Produce reports and metrics on contractor performance
  • Engage with Aerodrome Operations on inspection findings and ensure all planned works are notified
  • Monitor AGL and pavement inspections and take appropriate action when required
  • Production of regular reports detailing activities that have been undertaken and are upcoming, including any identified risks.
  • Develop project management plans, schedules and activity charts.
  • Prepares and maintains various reports and records required to demonstrate compliance
  • Support changes to infrastructure or SOPs due to airfield projects, engaging with all stakeholders for successful implementation
  • Implements controls to ensure compliance with LCY Health & Safety policy, procedures and CDM (2015) regulations
  • Maintains inventories of supplies, materials, and equipment as required
  • Deputise for the Airside Delivery Manager when required
  • Complete duties requested by the Airside delivery Manager
  • Support Aerodrome Operations with Winter Operations

Qualifications:

  • Qualification and experience in Project Management
  • Experience of working across a programme of interdependent projects
  • Change Management
  • Ability to obtain a Runway Driving Permit
  • Knowledge of Aerodrome Regulations including CAA and EASA
  • Proficient with MS Office products including MS Project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and communicate complex information to non-technical audiences
  • Working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations

 

Hours of Work:

Full time 40 hours, generally Monday to Friday.

Flexibility will be required with occasional weekend and night work.
