The main responsibilities in this role are to lead our Lower School (Years 6 to 8) and Middle School (Years 9 to 11), and to work closely with the Pastoral Deputy Head in setting the pastoral strategy for the school and in our safeguarding.

We are looking for a teacher and pastoral leader who is well-established as an excellent practitioner, who has proved their ability to lead in (at least) a middle management role, and who wants whole-school responsibility. As part of the SMT, the post holder will also share responsibility for the strategic development and day-to-day running of the school.

Trinity is one of three schools governed by the Whitgift Foundation, founded in 1596 by the then Archbishop of Canterbury, John Whitgift.

Trinity’s academic results regularly place it among the top schools in the country.

In 2022 Trinity was ranked 23rd in the Parent Power list of Top 100 Independent Schools in the UK and 13th in London, making it the top-ranked independent school in Croydon.

Beyond academic results, we celebrate intellectual curiosity and foster a culture in which pupils feel inspired to take a genuine interest in the world around them.

Exceptional staff is fundamental to our mission and we look forward to welcoming outstanding candidates to join our team.

Trinity School reserves the right to interview and appoint before the published closing date. Trinity strongly encourages applications from ethnic minority candidates. 42% of our students are from ethnic minority backgrounds and we want to have a staff body that reflects the diversity of the school and our local area.

Trinity School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants will be required to comply with all safeguarding procedures including an Enhanced DBS check.

At Trinity our focus is on leading through values; on the kind of young people that our students become through being at Trinity, with day-to-day school experiences and a love of learning shaping them before they move on to extraordinary futures.
