Would you like to play a key Administrator role in a brand-new delivery team, providing support to your local community and enabling those in long-term unemployed back into work? Whether you’re an experienced Administrator or have transferable and demonstrable organisational and customer service skills we want to hear from you!

At PeoplePlus we are on a mission to transform 1,000,000 lives by 2022 through training, education and financial advice. As a leading provider of UK wide employment support and training services, we are delighted to be building a brand-new team to deliver employment advice, information and guidance and vocational training to those in long-term unemployment as part of the Department of Work and Pensions “Restart Programme”.

Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate, customer service focused and diligent Administrator to support our team of Employment Advisors and Trainers. You’ll have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working with people and be highly organised as no two days will be the same.

Based in our offices, our Administrator will be absolutely key to the successful delivery of the programme, as you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for participants both on the phone and face to face, assessing their initial needs and directing them to the most appropriate form(s) of support
  • Provide invaluable administrative support to the delivery team – managing diaries, room bookings, maintaining participant databases and pre-training registration activities, preparing training rooms, collating records of training attendance, coordination of course evaluations and administration of participant travel expenses and other payments
  • Undertake other general administration and support duties as required i.e., creating reports to provide updates on participant activities, payments and issuing local marketing and communications
  • Ensure that the centre’s reception area offers a warm, friendly and personal welcome to all visitors

You will enjoy working in a dynamic, fast paced team, have a minimum ability (not qualification) at L2 / GCSE level in English and Math’s, possess an excellent understanding of Microsoft office packages including Excel, Word, Outlook, as well as experience of using and maintaining complex databases and adhering to strict deadlines and month-end timetables. A Business Administration Qualification (e.g., NVQ 2 Business Administration or similar) is desirable but not essential.

Here at PeoplePlus, we deliver the Restart Scheme on behalf of the DWP in Kent, the North East, and Wales.

The Scheme gives enhanced support for eligible claimants to find jobs, along with personalised support including health and wellbeing advice and a tailored action plan.

Our support ensures that individuals are ready for the right job at the right time. In the first year of the scheme PeoplePlus supported  nearly 15,000 people in their search for fresh employment, with nearly 4,000 starting work. We also provide up to 12 months of support for the individual once they have started work.

We are extremely proud to be a Silver accredited Investors in People organisation. This means that at PeoplePlus, the right principles are in place but more than that, it means our people and leaders are making active efforts to make sure that there’s real consistency and everyone in the organisation can feel the effects.

"I joined PeoplePlus in October of 2022 having had a varied career including the NHS and the police. It’s a good company with a great ethos. I love the fact that I never know what my participants are going to bring me on a day-to-day basis and the challenges that have to be overcome.  Job goals range from computer background designers to aviation engineer recruitment and I have managed to find something to refer them all to. "

"I genuinely love working for PeoplePlus, my reasons are that no two days are the same and also working with a diverse group of both colleagues and participants. One of the best feelings is when you get a participant come into the office who’s maybe a little unsure and then a few weeks later, they have been helped into employment it’s a truly breath-taking and emotional to watch sometimes."

"I love working for PeoplePlus as an Employment Advisor because the team is phenomenal and I think the best thing about working here is feeling part of a strong cohesive team all working towards the same goals.  We look after our participants with many resources that I’ve not seen at other organisations, such as the Food Parcels and access to Training courses and our very own Recruitment Consultant. "
