ADAS is seeking Arboricultural Surveyors to join our rapidly growing environment business. These roles are Remote workingpermanent and flexible, we will consider applicants on a full-time or part-time basis. These positions would be a combination of site based surveying, working partly from one of our offices and partly working from home. 

We are seeking applicants who are located across East Anglia, the South East and East of England including Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Greater London, Kent and East Sussex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out arboriculture surveys using the principles of Visual Tree Assessment and specify the necessary work on individual or groups of trees in accordance with BS 3998 and/or THREATS, where applicable, and current best practice
  • Produce high quality detailed tree work specifications for the client and their third party tree contractors
  • Contact and negotiate with landowners to agree necessary work to meet needs of all stakeholders and contractual timetable
  • Carry out post cut tree audits, to ensure compliance with client requirements, specifications and guidelines.
  • Supervise third party tree contractors

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Full driving licence and use of their own vehicle
  • Level 3 Arboricultural Qualification in line with The Arboricultural Association requirements
  • Relevant arboricultural surveying experience, e.g. VTA, THREATS
  • Able to communicate positively with a wide range of landowners/managers
  • Experience of GIS and tablet based surveying systems and familiarity with MS Office packages

Desirable:

  • NPTC Certificate of Competence in Utility Arboriculture Unit 1 Basic Electrical Knowledge
  • NPTC Certificate of Competence in Utility Arboriculture Unit 2.1 Tree species recognition, Growth Characteristics and Associated Hazards
  • NPTC Certificate of Competence in Utility Arboriculture Unit 5.1 and 5.2
  • Practical experience of overhead line vegetation clearance works up to and including 132kV
  • LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection certificate
  • Rail Sentinel PTS (Personal Track Safety) competency
  • Graduate or full membership of a relevant professional body such as ICF, RICS, Arboricultural Association

Salary and Benefits

  • £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, full-time equivalent (FTE), depending on experience
