FR Consultants are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Romsey, Hampshire.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will work as part of the team to help deliver all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion. You will work and manage a number of projects, ranging in value from £500k - £10m.  The projects will primarily be in relation to Cladding Safety works, procured under government guidance and frameworks.

Approach to all projects requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clients and other consultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Cost Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.
  • Have the ability to lead and manage teams, both internal and external.
  • Provide effective support and mentoring to Graduates and Apprentices.
  • Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.
  • Manage the delivery of cost management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Provide full Cost Management and Employer’s Agent duties.
  • Act as Project Manager / Lead Consultant and drive the project forward in line with agreed timescales.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a consulting environment providing the full spectrum of CM services including Pre Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
  • Understanding of JCT Design and Build standard forms of contract.
  • Understanding of Design and Build procurement route.
  • Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
  • Ability to manage relationships effectively, identifying and resolving issues at the earliest possible opportunity.
  • Computer literate and skilled with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of use of Microsoft Project also valuable.
  • Full UK Driving license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.
  • CSCS Card

Ideal ancillary requirement:

  • Experience of Fire Safety.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety of public sector clients.
  • Experience of managing in-house project finances.
