Do you want to make a difference for nature?

Could you make a difference for wildlife in Devon?

Could you be the new Chief Executive?

We are seeking a new CEO to lead the Devon Wildlife Trust and its work across Devon and the wider Wildlife Trust movement. Devon is one of the nation’s most beautiful counties, with two national parks and two stunning coastlines. The CEO will lead the Trust to ensure that the Devon of the future is far more nature rich, environmentally resilient,  and healthier to live in than it is today.

DWT is Devon’s leading wildlife conservation charity, with over 36,000 members, 350 regular volunteers, 100 staff and 63 nature reserves. We are one of the larger locally based organisations that collectively make up The Wildlife Trusts. DWT has pioneered the reintroduction of beavers in England and the restoration of internationally rare habitats like Culm Grassland. We are an outspoken Trust, keen to lead by example and drive a nature-positive agenda here in Devon and we regularly achieve best results from national campaigns.

We are looking for an innovative leader with a proven track record of running a successful organisation to build on our success. You will be passionate about the environment and have the credibility to maintain DWT’s position as a trusted voice for wildlife conservation. You will be an ambassador for DWT and have the ability to broker and maintain partnerships. You will understand the importance of bringing others with you and promoting a culture that gets the best out of a team.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ service)

  • Agile working arrangements including home working

  • Flexitime system

  • Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)

  • Death in Service cover

  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • Cycle to work scheme

  • Training and development opportunities

We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and abilities who meet the essential criteria for this role. We are an inclusive organisation that is seeking to involve more diverse audiences in our work.

DWT is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in employment.

We are a charity and rely on membership, legacy gifts and donations from our supporters and on the efforts of our 300 regular volunteers to deliver our mission.
