RSK Acoustics looking for a high calibre Associate Director to join their team in either Glasgow or Edinburgh, with flexible and hybrid working also considered.. This is a full time, permanent opportunity and is due to the significant growth in the Scottish region. 

RSK Acoustics is part of the wider RSK group, but has established itself as a highly successful acoustic consultancy in its own right. The team is involved in a diverse range of projects in the UK and overseas, covering all areas of acoustics. We have established a reputation for excellence amongst our wide private and public sector client base. The team has a strong pipeline of work across a number of renewable energy schemes, traditional power generation (oil and gas), education, R&D, energy transmission and transportation schemes across Scotland. The candidate would also support the wider acoustics team with other projects throughout the UK, continental Europe, East Africa, Middle East and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing Directors with additional team managerial support in financial, technical and resourcing matters
  • Representing the company in planning and licensing hearings, providing technical witness guidance at an advanced level
  • Preparation and review of technical tender documents will also form a big part of the role, along with liaison with new and existing clients
  • Supporting the team to achieve financial KPIs (utilisation and supporting budget management) and support them on more advanced or problematic projects.
  • Preparation of evidence for Public Inquiries and where required delivering the evidence on behalf of the team
  • Experience of peer review of technical documentation (models, reports and tenders)
  • Experience of mentoring more junior members of staff in both consulting and technical fields;
  • The ability to investigate specific problems and troubleshoot issues requiring adaptation of knowledge and technique.

Person Specification

  • Desirable IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control or degree/post-graduate degree with equivalent level of acoustic content
  • Relevant years’ experience in acoustic consultancy (Consultant)
  • MIOA status or equivalent international membership
  • High level experienced with a recognised Noise Modelling Package (i.e. SoundPlan, CadnaA, IMMI, CATT, Odeon or equivalent); and be able to quickly adapt to using other bespoke software packages
  • Experience of mentoring more junior members of staff in both consulting and technical fields
  • Good Experience in both Environmental and Architectural Acoustics
  • A valid UK or international driving licence is essential for this position
