Working Pattern: This is a fixed term position working 33.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Woodwater Academy is a popular and successful primary school which is seeking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and pro-active individual who will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks.

This is a fixed term maternity cover position, to cover maternity leave for an expected period of up to 12 months.

You will:

  • Provide a warm and professional welcome to visitors, parents and pupils
  • Answer the phone, taking messages and providing basic information
  • Deal with queries in person, on the phone and via email
  • Use our pupil management information system to check daily registers, record pupil absence and collate dinner orders for the kitchen
  • Assist with administering medicines as required
  • Undertake photocopying, laminating, printing, filing
  • Take messages and items to classes as required
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post and emails as appropriate
  • Assist in the administration of school events
  • Assist with updating of pupil records if required
  • Undertake basic administrative duties as needed in the office and directed by the lead administrator
  • Work calmly and effectively in a busy environment which operates at a fast pace
  • Be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff as well as visitors to the school
  • Have good organisational skills and be able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines in an environment subject to frequent interruptions
  • A good standard of English and Maths is essential as well as experience in the use of IT with a knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and Excel
  • You should be adaptable and enjoy the variety and challenge of working with others in a busy school environment.

This is a part-time, fixed term maternity cover position working 33.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The current working pattern is Monday - Friday, 8:15am -3:30pm. It may be possible to be flexible with this pattern for the right candidate.
