Southwark College, part of Newcastle College Group (a leading national provider of education and training) is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified Lecturer in Security & Employability
The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in Security & Employability, across a range of levels within the employability department. As well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties you will be expected to manage your professional development and sector-based industry requirements.
In addition, the successful candidate should be prepared to deliver one to one subject coaching to students who need extra support in order to achieve and progress.
Successful applicants should have:
· Level 3 Award in Education & Training (as a minimum or be prepared to work towards teacher training qualifications within a agreed period)
· Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
· Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Conflict Management
· Level 3 Physical Intervention Delivery/Teaching Certificate
· Level 3 in Physical Intervention
· ACT Awareness e-Learning Certificate
· ACT Security e-Learning Certificate
· Valid SIA License in Door Supervision
The candidate must:
· Have experience in delivering the L2 Private Security Industry qualifications, Level 3 emergency first aid, other security industry qualifications and all aspects of employability skills.
· Have a current Private Security License (SIA)
· Be qualified to deliver the security industry qualifications.
An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and a good knowledge of industry-standard, and strong IT skills are all essential requirements. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
