Associate Director for Corporate Biodiversity will have a primary role in delivering a range of high-profile biodiversity projects at Nature Positive.  This could include supporting major corporations and financial institutions in setting their biodiversity strategies, developing Science-based Targets for Nature (SBTN), and developing disclosures using the Tsk Force for Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). This role is offered on a full time permanent basis, flexible working and part time opportunities will be considered. 

You will develop client relationships to ensure bidding opportunities come into the business, based on successful delivery of previous projects and proactive client pursuit campaigns. You will undertake all work with an appropriate level of care and attention, compliant with RSK procedures and within agreed budgets and timescales.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Delivery of projects including those for clients in the agriculture, food and drink, FMCG, utility, energy, natural resources, transport, public and other sectors to ensure they are delivered on time, under budget and to the highest technical and quality standards;
  • Providing a technical contribution in key areas of the service offering which may be related to biodiversity desk-based assessments, survey work, design of conservation interventions, stakeholder mapping, research, or other areas which are developed by the company;
  • Development of new business including meetings, tenders, pitches and presentations to clients as required;
  • Developing white papers, research papers and strategy documents and presenting the results at conferences and to professional bodies;
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills at all levels, as well as an ability to liaise appropriately with other professionals and to manage people effectively; and
  • Collaborating with other parts of the RSK group to deliver multi-disciplinary bids and projects.

Person Specification 

  • Experience of assessing company / portfolio / organization-wide impacts and dependencies on nature
  • Experience in applying emerging TNFD methodology
  • Experience in supporting businesses developing Science Based Targets for Nature
  • Experience of techniques such as Global Biodiversity Score or other Footprinting tools an advantage
  • A good understanding of ecological principles, international biodiversity and nature conservation policy and practice, and biodiversity data sets
  • Ability to analyse, synthesise and communicate complex technical information and data
