The vacancy

Offered on a 2-year fixed term contract (36.25hrs per week) you will work as part of a newly created team to deliver the ambitious and exciting SHDF project, in the Asset Investment Directorate. In this role you will be responsible for reviewing our properties as part of the programme, where we have successfully been awarded grant funding, ensuring works are carried out and completed to necessary set standards under PAS 2030 and 2035. This is a hybrid role, whereby you will work from home, one of our offices (Boston, Rushden or Walsall) and may travel for meetings or training across our geography (Midlands, East of England).
You will work across the complete project, from feasibility to completion and beyond, challenging schedules of work, helping our properties reach EPC C band. You will need to have a clear vision on delivering exceptional customer service. You will be directly supporting improvement of our properties with a focus on cavity wall insulations, heating improvements through to external wall insulations.
Responsibilities will include the project and contract management of the appointed contractor, undertaking building and condition surveys of existing stock for planned maintenance/options appraisal purpose and the refurbishment and planned maintenance projects identified, whilst acting as ‘Ambassador’ for the organisation to build and maintaining excellent relationships with our partner organisations.
The provision of regular site inspection reports and the cross checking of these will also form part of your role as will ensuring the contract and professional teams are fully aware of the hand over procedure.
Your CV will ideally demonstrate a successful career within the social housing industry, and you will ideally be a member of RICS. We will also consider applicants from the wider property industry who can bring experience/ transferable skills of general repairs and planned programme contract management or building surveying.
To be successful in this role you will be able to bring a working knowledge of affordable housing stock, TCP contracts and NHF7 schedules as well as HCA requirements being able to take pathological approach to surveying. This role will require a highly organised individual who is driven by delivering positive outcomes to both properties and customers alike.
