The Head of Finance and Operations is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, passionate, growing environmental charity. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will help to develop and deliver Gwent Wildlife Trusts strategy and business plan. 
 
You will be required to manage and continuously improve the functions of the Finance and Operations team to support the work of Gwent Wildlife Trust and lead colleagues to exceed compliance and be recognised for achieving best practice in the non-profit sector across: Health and Safety, Finance, IT, HR, and Governance. 
 
You will require a high-level working knowledge of Sage and be experienced in book-keeping, managing all aspects of financial administration including, but not limited to, budgets, petty cash, invoicing, purchase orders, payments, preparation of monthly and annual papers, payroll, pension, VAT and end of year accounts, maintaining a robust financial system. 
 
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised, approachable person, with a passion for nature to help us deliver even greater impact for wildlife and future generations. This role will be as fulfilling as it will be challenging; we hope that you’ll join the team and make an impact. 

Internally this role will be known as ‘Head of Finance and Operations’ 

 

Gwent Wildlife Trust is the leading conservation charity in Gwent, working for the wildlife and people of our rich and varied landscape. For over 50 years, we have been protecting wildlife and working to educate, influence and empower people to understand and care about wildlife where they live. With the vital support of our members and volunteers, we manage Nature Reserves and influence the management of thousands of hectares of land for wildlife through working with local landowners and communities.
