The ESP Group are currently looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join our team to play a crucial role in the design, deployment and continued improvement of software and projects. 

 

In this role you will facilitate the integration and collaboration of IT, Software Development, Analyst, Testing and Operational teams to ensure priorities and dependencies are considered at each stage.

 

You will be a key participant in architecture and software development design activities, focusing on continual improvement and the application of new tools and technologies to support the business offering.

 

Whilst this role is remote travel to other ESP offices and locations will be required from time to time in line with business need.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to design and implement scalable, reliable, and efficient CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps tools and services.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) templates and scripts using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, and PowerShell.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and services to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Implement and enforce DevOps best practices, including automated testing, code quality checks, and release management.
  • Continuously improve deployment processes, tools, and methodologies to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address infrastructure and deployment-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with developers to streamline the build and release processes for various applications and services.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Azure services, features, and best practices and apply them to optimize our infrastructure and deployment processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as an Azure DevOps Engineer or a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure App Service, and Azure SQL Database.
  • Experience preferred in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and frameworks, such as ARM templates, Terraform, and PowerShell.
  • Solid understanding of source control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps Services), branching strategies, and versioning methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyse complex systems and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-400, AZ-104, AZ-204) are highly desired but not mandatory.
