The Vacancy
Southwark College is looking for a dedicated, creative, and enthusiastic SpLD Assessor to take on the role of assessing the needs of SEND learners and to carry out assessments of students requiring exam access arrangements in compliance with JCQ regulations.
In this extremely rewarding role, you will work with Heads of Faculty, Curriculum Managers and Lecturers to advise and support teachers, learning support workers and other colleagues in the College to plan and implement support plans for SEND learners, this will include delivering some specialist 1 to 1 academic support for students.
You will also carry out assessments of students requiring exam access arrangements. Therefore, the successful candidate must have the relevant qualifications required by JCQ, to carry out the assessments for exam access arrangements; these are specified in the job specification.
In addition, you provide training and support for colleagues and work with managers to develop best practice in supporting learners with SpLD in the College.
The post requires candidates with a strong and successful background in working with students with special educational needs and disabilities as well as a commitment to providing best quality learning and support opportunities that enable students to progress, achieve and move successfully into adulthood. To help achieve this, the successful candidate will be working as part of a hardworking, passionate, and supportive team that is committed to providing high quality provision and support and getting the best out of our learners.
The role will be based in the Supported Learning Department at Southwark College and will be managed by the Head of Faculty for Supported Learning.
