RSK’s International Projects Group (IPG) is a geographically diverse team that works on global environmental and social management projects. We work with major clients to meet the increasingly stringent legislative requirements of lending institutions including the IFC, EBRD and ADB. We have project resources and experience spanning the UK, Europe, the FSU, the Middle East and Africa and an excellent track-record for delivering high quality ESIAs on time and within budget.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a number of Senior and Principal biodiversity/ecology professionals to join our team as a Senior or Principal Environmental Consultant.  This is a full time position, 40 hours per week. We are flexible on location and happy to consider hybrid or homeworking. Travel to and collaboration with other RSK offices and staff working globally will be required.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Contribute to planning and coordination of biodiversity inputs for projects and tenders for the IPG team
  • Specifically, assisting with the biodiversity elements of screening, scoping and delivery of international projects including feasibility studies, scoping reports, environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs), critical habitat assessments, biodiversity action plans, biodiversity offset strategies (No Net Loss/Net Gain), monitoring programs, etc.
  • Implementing corporate biodiversity programmes, including issues such as design and field-testing of baseline survey methods, biodiversity metrics, impact assessment protocols, mitigation programmes and biodiversity offsets, in collaboration with our ecological specialists
  • Management (or deputy project management) of IPG biodiversity projects as required
  • Providing business development support to the Biodiversity Team Leader including preparation of marketing materials, meetings with existing and potential new clients, participation in relevant industry events.

 

Person specification:

 

  • Honours degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience working in biodiversity/ecology consultancy
  • Specialist skills in a particular ecological field (e.g. botany, herptiles, aquatic ecology, avifauna, etc.) would be particularly advantageous
  • Familiarity with international Lender standards (including Equator Principles, IFC PS6, EBRD PR6 and EIB Standard 3)
  • Good personal skills, covering written and oral communications, planning and coordination
  • Team player, with the ability to work comfortably within multi-cultural teams in different environments and countries
  • Enthusiastic self-starter, with the ability to work autonomously
