Since 2008 we have supported 40 plus apprentices at levels 1, 2 and 3 to achieve a wide variety of qualifications. Around 95% of our apprentices, who successfully completed their qualifications, secure employment either with Bron Afon or local companies.
In 2023 we are pleased to be advertising 9 exciting opportunities for you to join our team. We will be partnering with local colleges and training providers to offer you the chance to study for a qualification and put your learning into practise in a supportive, inclusive workplace.
You will receive ongoing help and support from your manager, your workplace mentor and from the learning and development team.

We are looking for apprentices/trainees to work towards the below qualifications/roles:
Admin – Finance
Bron Afon finance team are designing an apprentice programme that will give you a fantastic opportunity to kick start your career within finance. As a Bron Afon finance apprentice, you will experience every aspect of the finance function which will give you all the tools necessary to progress within the organisation as a finance professional through learning on the job. It will place you in good stead to achieve a professional accountancy qualification if this is a route you would like to take. No assumed knowledge is required, you will learn everything you need to know on the job, all that we ask is that you have a positive attitude, the desire to learn and that you embrace our values of Respect, Engage, Ambition and Listen.
Independent Living
As an Independent Living Apprentice, you will be part of the Independent Living team, working across our retirement, supported and specialist housing schemes.
You will gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of housing management providing support and assisting people to maintain their contracts, live independently in their own home, within our retirement housing complexes and as part of their local community.
You will be supported to develop excellent customer and partner relationships, and negotiation and influencing skills to help bring about change and improvements in the services we provide to our customers and communities.
Tenancy Support
As a Tenancy Support apprentice, you will be supported to play a key role in delivering a proactive needs-led and flexible tenancy support service.
You will develop the skills and knowledge to make a positive contribution to a customer’s life when they are faced with physical, social, and emotional challenges. You will work with the aim of empathetically offering a person-centred service that supports customers to sustain their contracts and promote independence.
Through developing excellent relationships with Bron Afon colleagues, our customers, and partners, you will play a key role in our communities. Your developing communication skills will mean you can work with and involve people in the development and improvement of our service.
ICT
Are you a curious person with a passion for Digital and Technology? Do you like to learn as well as be surrounded by emerging and exciting innovative technologies? If the answer is yes, then we can offer you that.
You will be part of our transformational digital journey and be working with the team to deliver our exciting Digital Road Map. Our core objectives are to use digital and technology to improve our services, improve our ways of working and to ensure our customers benefit from digital accessibility with excellent outcomes.
Customer Service

The Customer Hub are a team of 15 assistants that are the first point of contact for our customers through email, phone calls or our online portal. We deal with a whole host of queries so you will quickly learn that no two calls are the same, from supporting someone struggling financially to dealing with stray cows bursting through a hedge and many, many more things in between.
We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and is willing to learn. In return, our friendly team will support you with the training and support to build your skills and continue to strive within your role. You will provide us with day-to-day support within the office answering customer calls and emails whilst providing a first-class experience for our customers.

Admin – Property
Are you organised? Confident using ICT? Have an eye for detail? If yes, this role in our property admin team may be for you.
The team plays a key role in the smooth running of our property service by keeping our records up to date and our systems maintained.
You will develop your ICT, administration, and customer service skills in this role.
Electrical, Carpentry and Plumbing
You will be joining our property service at an exciting time. Our property vision sets out the plan for the next 15 years. It includes our ongoing commitment to our in-house trades, our preparation for and delivery of WHQS (Welsh Housing Quality Standard) 2023 and the transition to net zero as well as ongoing improvements to ways of working including transforming our use of technology in delivering services to our customers.
Our friendly property teams will teach you all you need to know to learn a new trade to ensure customers’ homes are maintained in a timely way, keeping them informed and completing repairs right first time to help reduce costs and meet our service first principles.
