Ardmaine Care Home is situated in a quiet, residential area in Newry, close to the local seaside town of Warrenpoint and near the banks of the River Clanrye

The home has 3 storeys and broken down into 3 types of care: General Nursing, Dementia Nursing and Mental Health Nursing.

Main Purpose of the Role

To support the Deputy Manager in ensuring that the home is maintained in accordance with the necessary regulatory bodies. To line manage the unit team to ensure high standards of care and service are achieved within the unit.

  1. Maintain and monitor RQIA standards within the unit and support staff training
  2. Monitor the administration of the unit, escalating any issues to the Deputy Manager
  3. Support the Deputy Manager through the recruitment and selection process
  4. Hold regular staff meetings on the unit to foster good communications and feedback
  5. Carry out regular risk assessments in a timely manner
  6. Monitor the standard of cleanliness of the unit, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory bodies

Experience

A good working knowledge of the statutory requirements associated with caring for the elderly is essential. A sound understanding of managing budgets is desirable. Experience as a team leader or equivalent within the Health and Social Care sector as well as being familiar with the care home sector. 

RGN / RMN qualification essential.
