The role

The Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for the processing and payments of the Groups Utility, Council Tax, and Non-Domestic rates liabilities. It will be the officers responsibility to ensure the billing periods are correct and all bills are received and paid within the Local authority and utility provider payment terms.

They will also be responsible for dealing with queries from internal and external stakeholders, liaising directly with Utility providers and Local authorities to obtain any missing invoices, resolve any invoice discrepancies, and provide appropriate evidence to support any queries. Ongoing monitoring is essential to ensure queries are resolved and invoices paid within supplier terms.

The Finance Accounts Payable Officer will have the responsibility of ensuring all invoices due are captured on the weekly supplier payment runs. This role will also support the finance team with shred mailboxes and scanning any incoming post to the relevant files/teams.

 

The right fit

  • Demonstrable finance experience is essential, with prior experience relating to Accounts Payable
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel
  • Prior experience with Open accounts, Orchard and eBIS would be advantageous
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to keep organised records of queries and correspondence - record keeping is an essential part of this role
  • Confident communicator, both written and orally, liaising directly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to deal with large volumes of data
