Lewisham College, part of NCG Group is looking to recruit a talented Additional Learning Support Manager. Based at our Lewisham College site, close to St John’s station, the successful candidate will work under the leadership of the Assistant Principal –Learner Experience.

The main purpose of the role is to lead on the provision of support for students who have additional learning needs or a disability in the wider setting. This includes leading a support team, being responsible for support provision and close working with  Curriculum Teams to ensure student needs are met.

The role will also involve leading on the provision of support to specific learners and providing advice and guidance on specific disabilities or special education needs.

The main duties of the post holder are: 

  • To lead a specialist and dedicated team of Learning support professionals that have a demonstrable impact upon student progression, retention and success
  • To be responsible and accountable for the successful operation of the ALS team and to deliver good value for money
  • To ensure the College is compliant with current and relevant Standards and Guidelines for all aspects of ALS, e.g. assessments, exams, EHCPs, SEND, classroom support
  • To manage and monitor the budget for learning support and liaise with LA’s and the College finance department and to ensure the ALS provision is cost effective and commensurate with the College’s allocation
  • To have an excellent understanding of the funding rules and conditions as they apply to ALS including those with EHCP
  • To provide an efficient, confidential and knowledgeable ALS funding coordination.
  • To be the key link between Student Services, IT Services, MIS and the Skills Funding Agency.
  • To be the key link to the quality, finance, HR and data collection processes of the College in order to supply accurate and comprehensive data to the College systems.
