Role Summary

As a key part of our Governance, Administration and Projects (GAP) Team you will work with Governance, Administration and Projects Consultants, in addition to Actuarial and Investment colleagues to develop and deliver first class advice to our clients, who are predominantly local authorities administering the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) but may also be Scheme Employers and Asset Pools. 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising funds on complex queries and providing advice in relation to governance and administration best practice, including improving processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Leading administration and governance reviews and policy drafting.
  • Leading training and coaching of staff internally, and for clients.
  • Possible line management responsibilities and training and reviewing the work of others, managing workflow and reporting on progress against targets and liaising with clients on queries.
  • Acquiring and maintaining a solid understanding of the firm’s products and services.
  • Adhering to the firm’s Information Security standards, policies and procedures.
  • Delivering client work to budget and to a high and professional standard, ensuring all correct processes are followed.

Skills, qualifications & experience required

The successful candidate will:

  • Have worked in an LGPS fund, or provided consultancy advice to LGPS funds. (Consultancy experience is not essential as training and support is part of our team ethos).
  • Be driven to provide excellent service to clients and stakeholders. 
    Have strong organisational skills with proven ability to effectively plan and prioritise work.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team, including as a leader.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be a proven and effective communicator.
  • Be able to work in partnership with others to establish needs.
  • Have an enthusiasm for keeping up to date with developments in the pensions industry.
  • Have a strong track record of successfully managing a range of projects.
