RSK International Projects Group is hiring for Environmental & Social Consultants at Mid to Senior Leve grades across South East Asia. 

We are looking for Environmental and Social Consultants preferably based in Vietnam, Philippines and South East Asia.  Join our rapidly growing team working on international lender standards Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and related services. As we grow our service offering in Asia-Pacific, we are specifically seeking mid- to senior level consultants with 8-10+ years of experience developing ESIAs in Vietnam, Philippines, and/or other South East Asian countries.

Experience in any renewable energy sectors (e.g., wind, solar) is preferred. Candidates will need to be able to write fluent English language reports, speak fluent Vietnamese, Filipino, or a relevant national language, be a registered environmental practitioner in Vietnam, Philippines, and/or another South East Asian country as relevant, and have experience applying the environmental and social standards of the international financing institutions (e.g., IFC, EP4) on projects in South East Asia.

 

The role and responsibilities: 

  • We currently have exciting opportunities for mid- to senior level E&S consultants in Vietnam, Philippines, and elsewhere in South East Asia. The desired functions will include:
  • Working with national partners in Vietnam, Philippines, and elsewhere to deliver community and stakeholder engagement and environmental/social baseline data collection across a range of locations
  • Managing or contributing to ESIAs and associated reports including scoping reports, stakeholder engagement plans, environmental and social management plans, and E&S due diligence reports
  • Financial and technical management of projects and tenders in Vietnam, Philippines, and elsewhere in South East Asia
  • Client and project team liaison
  • Business development support, including client relationships and attending conferences
  • Technical development and mentoring of fellow team members

 

Person Specification: 

  • Ideal candidates will: Have 8-10+ years of experience in either environmental or social consultancy roles in Vietnam, Philippines, or other South East Asian countries
  • Have fluent written and spoken English, with experience contributing to and managing aspects of ESIA reports in English
  • Speak fluent Vietnamese, Filipino, or other relevant national language
  • Be a registered environmental practitioner or similar in Vietnam, Philippines, or another South East Asian country as relevant
  • Thorough knowledge of key client sectors (including renewable and other energy sectors, infrastructure, and/or mining) in Vietnam, Philippines, and/or wider South East Asia; knowledge and experience of the renewable energy sector is a strong advantage
  • Experience applying the environmental and social standards of the international financing institutions (e.g., IFC, EP4) on projects in Vietnam, Philippines, or wider South East Asia
  • Ideally a degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., environmental science, social studies, sustainable development)
  • Be a citizen of Vietnam, Philippines, or another South East Asian country, and have the right to reside and work in that country.
  • Self-motivated, exhibit a proactive approach and work well within a team environment
  • Comfortable working remotely with other specialist colleagues
  • Delivering consultancy to a range of clients, working directly for clients and meeting their expectations with our deliverables
  • Strong project management skills, including financial management, program management and quality control, including a track record of returning good profitability
