Connections Volunteers help our volunteers and employees who have lived experience of a learning disability and/or autism to use their local services. They support them in a variety of ways which might include some of the following:
Promoting VA services – presentations, attending events sharing information
1:1 support for clients – preparing for and attending meetings, with travel, basic admin
Community contact point – drop ins, outreach sessions and site visits
First contact point for new clients – gather info, explain our processes
Sign-posting clients to the right services within or outside our organisation
Supporting clients with a variety of needs to access services (Learning Disabilities, mental health issues)
We are looking for individuals with the following key skills and attributes:
Good communication skills – written and verbal
Empathy and patience when supporting clients
A knowledge of or interest in advocacy
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload
Ability to work independently & as part of a team
A commitment to the aims and ethos of VoiceAbility

We are using Contract as our legal basis for processing, which means we can use your details and information so that we may assess your suitability for employment with us, as well as carry out our statistical analysis of recruitment.
Why do we collect this information and who do we share it with?

We will store your application data for 6 months after the vacancy has closed. After this period, it will be fully anonymised.
